Celebrity Silhouette is the fourth ship of Celebrity Cruises' Solstice class, built by Meyer Werft at Papenburg, Germany, and delivered in 2011 at a cost of around US$640 million. Built as an enhanced evolution of the earlier Solstice-class ships, she introduced several refinements to the design while retaining the roughly 122,000-GT dimensions and the guest capacity of about 2,880 that defined the class.
Silhouette debuted a number of new venues that distinguished her from her elder sisters, including The Porch, a casual al-fresco eatery adjoining the Lawn Club; the Lawn Club Grill, an interactive open-air grilling venue set on the ship's signature expanse of real grass; and The Hideaway, a quiet lounge tucked into the ship's interior. She was later refreshed under the fleetwide Celebrity Revolution program, which updated her staterooms and public spaces.
Her godmother is Michelle Morgan, and the ship entered service in 2011 as the penultimate member of the Solstice class.
Celebrity Silhouette sails Caribbean and Bermuda itineraries, frequently homeporting at Cape Liberty in Bayonne, New Jersey, which places her within easy reach of the northeastern United States market. Registered at Valletta, Malta, and carrying the call sign 9HA2583, she remains in active service with Celebrity Cruises.
