Editorial Cruise Ship Wiki's take on Mein Schiff 7 Cruise Ship Wiki · August 2026 · 437 words

Mein Schiff 7 entered service on 21 June 2024, delivered by Meyer Turku eleven days earlier. The defining idea is continuity: at 111,500 gross tons and 316 metres she repeats the platform the same yard built for Mein Schiff 1 in 2018 and Mein Schiff 2 in 2019 rather than opening a new class. She carries 2,534 to 2,894 guests and 1,000 crew in 1,447 cabins. Four Wartsila diesels burn low sulphur marine diesel oil behind scrubbers, the ship can draw shore power in ports equipped for it, and methanol storage was designed in. Roughly 80 percent of guests are German speaking.

The Atlantik trio, Classic, Brasserie and Mediterran, carries the main dining, joined by the 745 seat Anckelmannsplatz buffet, GOSCH Sylt and a complimentary Backstube. Surcharge rooms include Hanami, developed with Tim Raue, Richards and Surf & Turf. Bars run from the Champagner Treff and the Ebbe & Flut Bier Bar to the Rauchersalon and the Abtanz Bar. A 1,000 seat Theater anchors entertainment, backed by the 300 seat Klanghaus. Add the SPA & Meer, the Insel der Seeraeuber kids club and Blauer Balkon, a glass floored platform 37 metres above the water.

The criticisms concern ambition. This is another turn on a hull form first delivered in 2018, so returning guests meet a familiar ship with a longer venue list. The environmental case is partly a promise: scrubbed marine diesel is the working fuel, the methanol provision is readiness rather than operation, and shore power depends on the port. Full occupancy near 2,894 loads the buffet and pool deck on sea days, several of the better rooms carry surcharges on an otherwise inclusive fare, and the review record is still thin.

She suits German speaking couples and families after an inclusive premium product: Baltic and Norwegian runs from Kiel and Warnemuende in summer, Mediterranean and Canary Islands sailings in winter. The language point is blunt. German is the working language, from announcements and the daily programme to the Klanghaus recitals and the Theater shows, so a guest without German follows the ship but not the entertainment. Anyone wanting a genuinely new design should look elsewhere.

**What this means for choosing a cabin.** About 90 percent of the 1,447 cabins are outside and 82 percent have a balcony, so a balcony is the default, not the upgrade. The 953 Balkonkabinen occupy decks 6 to 11 at roughly 17 square metres; inside rooms scatter across decks 3, 6, 8, 9 and 11, outside rooms across 3 and 8. Deck 11 holds the 66 Junior Suiten and the SPA Balkonkabinen, which gain direct spa access but sit below the deck 12 pool and wellness hub. Deck 3 rooms lie above deck 2 tender and hospital spaces. Twelve Himmel und Meer Suiten on deck 15 forward sit above the deck 14 kids club, with the Panorama and Schoene Aussicht Suiten on deck 10 aft.

Mein Schiff 7 was delivered by Meyer Turku in Finland in 2024 as an evolution of TUI Cruises' enlarged second newbuild generation, closely related to the 2018 and 2019 pair but incorporating improved environmental technology. Built for the German-speaking premium market of the TUI AG and Royal Caribbean Group joint venture at a reported cost of around US$614 million, she arrived as one of the newest conventionally fuelled ships in the fleet, engineered for shore-power connection and lower emissions in port.

Measuring roughly 111,500 GT and about 315 metres in length across fifteen decks, she carries around 2,900 guests at double occupancy. She retained the by-then familiar TUI Cruises product, an all-inclusive fare with wide dining choice, a substantial spa and sports complex, and airy, contemporary interiors, while updating systems and technology to meet tightening environmental standards. In outward form and passenger experience she is a refined continuation of the enlarged Mein Schiff design.

The ship was named by Fenia Kalachani as godmother. She is registered in Valletta, Malta, flies the Maltese flag, and carries the call sign 9HA5959.

Mein Schiff 7 sails a seasonal programme spanning Northern Europe, often based at Kiel, along with Mediterranean and Canary Islands itineraries. As a recent addition she remains in active service with TUI Cruises, bridging the conventionally fuelled fleet and the new LNG-powered generation that followed her.

Aboard, TUI Cruises' published deck plans place her 1,447 staterooms across Decks 3 through 14, and name the ship's public venues deck by deck, among them indoor and outdoor pools, the SPA & Beauty wellness complex, the open-air sports arena and the Insel der Seeraeuber children's club, alongside the restaurants, bars and two-level theater that anchor the all-inclusive product. On this site every one of those staterooms is individually mapped and clickable on her interactive deck plans, traced from the line's own drawings.
