MSC Sinfonia

MSC Sinfonia is a cruise ship operated by MSC Cruises, one of the four ships of the Mistral class, also marketed by MSC as the Lirica class. She was built by Chantiers de l'Atlantique at Saint-Nazaire, France, and entered service in 2002 as European Stars for the Greek-owned operator Festival Cruises. She now measures roughly 65,500 gross tons at 275 metres across 13 decks.

Festival Cruises ceased trading in 2004, and MSC acquired the ship along with her near-sister European Vision, renaming them Sinfonia and Armonia. The two vessels were closely related to the pair MSC had ordered directly from the same yard, and their acquisition effectively doubled the size of the company's modern fleet at a single stroke.

In 2015 Sinfonia was lengthened at Fincantieri in Palermo as part of the Renaissance Programme, gaining a 24-metre midsection, additional cabins, an enlarged buffet and new outdoor water features, alongside a refurbishment of her public rooms.

Facilities include a main theatre, two dining rooms, a spa and thermal area, a casino, and pool decks reworked during the lengthening.

Sinfonia has sailed Mediterranean and Northern European seasons and has spent several winters in southern Africa, operating from South African ports, a market where MSC has maintained a seasonal presence for many years.
