You are at the top of the passenger decks, so the pools and the open air are just up the stairs, and you feel the ship move more than anyone below you. This is a long way from the pivot, so a swell reaches you before it reaches anyone midship. Right up in the bow, a head sea can send a shudder through the hull that midship guests never feel at all. It is 5 cabins along the corridor to Spa and Fitness Center. Close enough to be useful, far enough that it should not keep you awake. Vitality at Sea, split across decks 11 and 12 forward. Treatment rooms, salon, thermal suite, sauna and steam and a mud room on one side, and a gym with cardio, weights, a spin area and a class studio on the other. Worth knowing: the gym is free, treatments and classes are not. It opens around six in the morning, and treadmills overhead are the usual complaint from the forward cabins directly below on deck 10. Quiet scores 5 out of 10. There is enough going on nearby that a light sleeper should think about it. For getting about, 7 out of 10.

Counting from the bow, it is the 1st cabin position of 6 along Deck 11. That puts you right at the forward end of the run, where the corridor stops and the footfall dies away. Deck 11 also has Spa and Fitness Center, Solarium, Whirlpool and Pool Bar on it. There are 6 cabins along this deck, so the corridor is short and rarely busy.

A Spacious Panoramic Ocean View gives you 188 square feet. You get daylight and a sense of where you are without paying balcony money. The window does not open, so it is the view but not the air.

Worth knowing before you book: Crown and Anchor pays one cruise point a night at this grade. A suite pays two, and so does sailing solo on a double occupancy fare, which is the cheaper of the two routes if you are travelling alone anyway. Against the rest of the ship it is livelier in a swell than most of them. It is a poor fit for anyone who wakes when a door closes and anyone who feels motion badly.
