You are at the top of the passenger decks, so the pools and the open air are just up the stairs, and you feel the ship move more than anyone below you. This is the steady part of the ship. When it gets lumpy, midship is where you want to be. We score it 8 out of 10 for steadiness.

You are all but on top of the aft lift bank, about 2 cabins away. Nothing on board is a shorter walk. The price is footsteps past your door and the lift chiming at odd hours. Utopia of the Seas letters two lift banks on each deck, one forward and one aft, each a glass fronted lobby serving both sides of the ship. The forward bank reaches the theatre and the suite decks, the aft bank the dining rooms, the Boardwalk and the pool deck above. Worth knowing: the cars themselves are quiet. The lobby is not. What a cabin beside a lift bank actually hears is people waiting, talking and calling to each other, and it peaks at dinner sittings and again after the late show.
